With the horrific events in the news this week where individuals violently acted in the name of white people, I think I must speak out to say how absolutely dreadful this is. These individuals who act on behalf of others do not act for me or for anyone I know. It is reprehensible to us, to me.

I believe that we are made in the image of God and the colour of our skin or the language that we speak does not in any way speak to our value – that is embedded in the very nature of life. Human beings have value because they are children of God.

John Gowans and John Larsson brilliantly composed the song which says

They shall come from the east, they shall come from the west And sit down in the kingdom of God, both the rich and poor the despised, the distressed, and sit down in the Kingdom of God.

Justice is not led by one group or one person – we must all speak out and work towards bringing peace to our world.
