Eleven years ago we said good-bye to my Dad as he left this earth. The promise he claimed and we believe was his was realized on that day in a glad welcome home to heaven. Some will find thinking of heaven as home as strange – isn’t this home? Isn’t the place with loved ones really home?
The promise of heaven was something Dad believed in and looked forward to.
I thought on this anniversary I would post a different kind of photo of Dad. He’s at the dock getting ready for us to drive to the cottage on Green Bay on Lake Cedebee – near Burk’s Falls. You can see Leanne on the deck and the things from the car are in the wheelbarrow because you had to carry everything down to the boat. Dad loved the water and boats and I don’t really remember him relaxing more than when we were fishing – just sitting in the boat with rods in the water out on the lake. We still miss him and often turn our thoughts to the godly influence, the fun and laughter he brought to all our lives.
