There’s a great deal of time and money that can be spent on building team.  You can hire consultants, take your staff on a white water rafting expedition or take them to laser tag.  You can have weekends away where you see each other over an extended time.  It’s all good…but…

This week I watched the legal department build team while having a great amount of fun – and it didn’t cost very much.  They decided to celebrate in tremendous fashion the 40th birthday of one of their staff.  Knowing she is the last one in after dropping her child off to daycare they feverishly worked to set up a celebration before she arrived.

It was obvious to everyone else something was up…so I grabbed my camera!
