Over the past few years, it has been a regular feature of life to hear of the death of friends or colleagues who are near our age. Folks who lived life well, gave of themselves to others and then found an illness eliminating or cutting short their retirement years.

Doug Hefford, Junior Hynes, Bert Sharp, Floyd Tidd, David McNeilly and session mates Tanya Payette, Anne Moaruise, Fred Haugland, Joan Canning and Owen Huddon.

We were saddened again today to hear of the passing of Lorraine Bamford who with her husband Bill, were the territorial leaders in the USA East until last summer when they retired.

Promoted to Glory is The Salvation Army’s phrase and such a good one to recognize that we move on to the very arms of a loving God. While none of knows what happens, we hear the promise of Jesus to the thief on the cross. “Today you will be with me in paradise”. With me, is the important phrase here. Where that is, I do not understand.

But we await the resurrection day and the hope of glory!

Well done Doug, Junior, Bert, Floyd, David, Tanya, Anne, Fred, Joan, Owen – and now Lorainne!
