All eyes were on New York City 25 years ago as we slowly learned what had transpired. One, then two planes had flown into the World Trade Centre’s two main towers. I immediately called one of our families in Glenmore Temple. I knew their son worked in one of the towers. It turned out that he was on a plane to Los Angeles and was safe.
We spent the day glued to our televisions in startling unbelief to what was happening. And this event was drawing nations together to help the United States of America. Some of our people were going to NY to help.
And in time we were all called to do something. Planes were landing at numerous planes across Canada. Wendy and I were asked to go to the Calgary airport. I remember meeting two young women who had been travelling the world. As they boarded their flight to Melbourne they did so happily knowing that they had spent the last of their money but they would soon be home. Now they were in Calgary and without the means to buy food. We were happy to help them.
The world was willing to come to the aid of our neighbour.

And now, well what can I say about a President who having cheated his business partners, his tenants, his wives, etc, etc, and now yells at those countries who were in partnership with the USA? With ridiculous rigor he wants to attack the economy of Canada,
How tragic that one man, and a few cronies’ have done so much damage to this relationship. We should be remembering lives lost, but you can count on DJT making the day about himself.
