I’m back…we’ve been in Ontario for the past week. Edmonton has not had warm weather in June. It’s been really cool and wet here, so I was looking forward to Ontario’s warm weather. We were disappointed, perhaps by the lack of sun and warmth, but the ability to be with family and address some family matters made the trip worthwhile.

We rented a car – a hybrid – which was a first for me. What fascinating technology, and even as we drove down the highway to see the engine shut off and roll along on battery power, left us wondering if we shouldn’t think of getting a hybrid somewhere on our own journey.
We had a good weekend with Jason before heading to Bowmanville, Ajax, and Uxbridge to see Wendy’s dad, my mom, and Cath and Terry.
Hi Cath and Terry!!

We took Jason to the Mandarin, visited Mom in her residence (the cruise ship), and had a great meal out with Cath and Terry, too! I didn’t get a picture with Norm and Carolyn but we had a good visit with them, too.
And since we were hurtling along the 401, we stopped in at Belleville at Reid’s Dairy – and “we’ll have two chocolate ice cream cones?”.

What a week – we got home yesterday, tired but happy to have had time with family.
