How does this look? Delicious it was! Cream, strawberries, and dark chocolate on a fresh croissant with icing sugar on top. And just to boot served on royal doulton… I mean, Royal Doulton! Where did I get this delicious dessert? Well, I was out for coffee with my friend Robert at the Italian Centre. I sent these two photos to Wendy and asked, “should” Should I bring anything home?”

This a great place to share a treat and some good coffee. A bit pricey, too little parking, and certainly not enough seating….but get a table and you can really enjoy the place.
That was a delightful hour.
Speaking of delightful time… last evening was our final small group for this season. We only got started 9 weeks ago, but we met out at Janet and Al’s place which lends itself to a group this size so nicely. Each brought meat to BBQ, and a salad or dessert. The weather cooperated and the house was full.
I used Psalm 46:1 as a reminder that over the summer life may bring things that we will find difficult, but that God is with us – HE is our refuge and strength and we must not rush the way in which he provides that refuge and strength. We want a solution that is quick, that is NOW. But God’s timing is not man’s timing, and we must await God’s timing. Our trust becomes illustrated by our patience. And the second part of the verse says “an ever-present help in times of trouble.“
So we need to have eyes to see and ears to hear the things of God as we trust HIM to be present.
I challenged our group to memorize that one verse. Can you? I think you can.
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
At the end of our evening they gave me a lovely yellow rose bush! So this morning I took my shovel, some bone meal, and the plant and found a great spot where it will get lots of sun.

This will add to the garden is such a beautiful way. The garden has become a wonderful part of my retirement! I love being near it, hands in the soil, watching life develop in all these different plants. Last summer I grew a couple of blue ferns, a lovely talent plant with small blue flowers. It blossoms through the summer and was one of the first plants this spring to take off.

And lastly, Nugget continues to bring us great joy. He’s funny, he’s cute, he’s entertaining and great company to us. He’s not feeling too well today, but this morning he wanted to be on the deck and just relax. If we can get dried out again, I will finish the work on our deck.
