The 124th adventure

on

Carlyle needed a ride one evening this week and I got to take her. I was thrilled. Yup – thrilled!! I love this girl and she’s so smart, so kind, so terrific to be around I was thrilled. Did I mention I was thrilled.

I had to drop her off at 5:30 and return for her around 7 pm so I thought I would see what food places were nearby. I kind of stumbled on a very desirable area of Edmonton via my map app.

I was looking for a burger place and Woodshed popped up, just 3 minutes away. So I headed over and found some on-street free parking nearby. There was even a park on the corner with picnic tables, and it was warm enough out to eat outside comfortably.

Sorry, Ontario people, who are having cool and wet weather. I don’t know how you can really live in such a cold climate. On to my adventure.

The restaurant across the street caught my attention, so I wandered over to The Tiramisu Cafe. I saw what I thought were umbrellas over tables until I walked over and found these neat shelters with tables in them, and they were really busy. Inside was full of people, really unique lighting and expensive desserts! But wow was it nice. By the way I got a Turkey burger and it was delicious! Hot and juicy and really tasty. I will be back… oh, and the fries were top-notch! Worth the drive, friends.

The neighbourhood was interesting – and the architecture of the houses unique. This is a community of people who care about their property and have money to make them look great.

And to top off the lovely evening I had, when I picked up Carlyle, she had had a great time, was very excited about going back this week and told me that it was “a safe space”. So let me publicly thank Erica for inviting Carlyle in and for making her feel part of the group!! This is perhaps a turning point for Carlyle and us.
