When Philip won the Alberta Skills Competition for Carpenters, this is the chair that he built, in record time. And it isn’t just a chair, it’s a folding chair. We got it, I’ve painted it now twice, and we’ve cherished it.
It’s been a bit beat up after all these years now, and it was time to fix a couple of things and paint it again. I was pretty happy about the outcome and enjoyed the work to do so.

There aren’t many things that I find value in far beyond its monetary value, but this would be one.
And I’ve not been a guy who uses tools. In fact, I haven’t had many power tools down through the years. Wendy and Philip have been buying me some over the past five years, and over the weekend I’ve used several of them.
Every spring, I post a picture of myself having coffee in the blue chair. So now that the paint is dry, watch for the picture.
