Strait of Hormuz

I love Gary Larson and his cartoons! They are so funny and often feature one funny character or another that represents a person in the family or a well-known personality. When he drew this one in 1987 he had no idea that it would be most relevant in 2026!

In the incredibly sad tragedy that has become the life of those living in Iran, the Strait of Hormuz, which was not in anyone’s crosshairs, has become symbolic of an empire with might that is defeated by a state that has the strategic advantage. Vietnam and Iraq should be enough of a lesson, but apparently not; it has to be experienced once more.

So funny, yes, but tragic too.
