We gathered at Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Saturday to celebrate Freda’s life and to place Richard’s and her urns in the crypt. It was a lovely day, and Belinda had everything so well organized – no surprise there. It was a delight to see Joyce and Ray, who looked after me so well when I was just a teen, and a few of Richard’s family. Mom was there, of course, so two of the Eastland sisters were able to attend. Eileen, now in a home in Niagara Falls, could not attend.

These three pictures tell lots – Freda, the classy and joyful woman, Freda and Richard with two of their dogs (I remember these two), and the stone marking their resting place.
Many memories are shared at times like this – moments when we recall historic events or when, for some reason, the whole family is together.

And we marvelled again at the display of Freda’s artwork – so many beautiful pieces that demonstrate again and again her talents. It was breathtaking to see some of them displayed together.

Lastly, this time afforded us the opportunity to go around to The Army section of Mount Pleasant. It was sobering to see the marker for Floyd. It almost took my breath away. Such a young vibrant leader and friend gone too soon. I said a silent prayer for Tracey. And there is the Waters marker and we remembered Dad and said a silent thank you to the Heavenly Father for such a wonderful man. We miss him much.

And then just to end the day on a positive note Cath broke into a dance…
