Calgary visit

on

Many months ago Colonel Bill Ratcliffe called to ask if I would assist at the funeral of Bill Stunell. Bill had been one of the saints of the corps and had taken an interest in many people who might have been missed. He was one of those people every church needs.

Going to the funeral also gave us a chance to take some time for us – Fred and Wendy time – to get some space and worry about very little for a bit of time. The heavens opened for a bit, and we ended up standing in a store waiting for the torrent of rain to slow.

Calgary is a city that we loved living in, and we enjoy visiting from time to time. And this is a good time of the year to travel, well except this is thunderstorm/hail season. But it never lasts long and the blue skies reappear quickly.

Our time at Glenmore was a highlight – we had so much time to talk to friends, former congregants and to catch up with them. Friendship is such an important part of our lives.
