Today The Salvation Army announced that Major Keith Pike will be the next TSBA – that is take my place at our headquarters. While most everyone, I think, knows I am retiring, this really makes it official. I’m 18 months past my expected retirement date and I’ve enjoyed the extra time and helping us get to our intended targets for our new operating model. The strategic work and implementation it has been very satisfying.
I came into this role with some sense of apprehension but have enjoyed every minute of it. There have been some great opportunities. I’ve seen much of the work of The Salvation Army across Canada and Bermuda. And we have some great work going on every day.
But now it’s time to change.
Now it’s time to see my title – Grandpa – as how I would like to be known! I’ve been using this scripture at the bottom of my emails and I have it on my wall. I want this to be true for the rest of my life.
To act justly, love mercy, walk humbly – Micah 6:8
Happy Retirement it’s not far off now
