Here it is, our 1979 Honda Accord – brand new it was $7919 tax and all. I owned a 1978 Honda Civic that I turned in to buy. My monthly car payment was $125 and with a stunning salary of $26,000 a year I thought we were on our way to stardom.

I loved the car for lots of reasons, it had a bigger engine, therefore, more torque, and had some nice features for a low-priced “luxury vehicle”, yes it was seen as a bit of a luxury vehicle for Honda at that point and a good-sized trunk. I’m sure it has long been turned into pop cans or a guard rail for the roadside but I really loved that car.
