Another insight into my own heritage. This Bible has an article in it written in the Kingston Whig-Standard, the local newspaper at the time of my grandpa’s passing. Born in 1878 he was significantly older than normally a grandfather would be to his grandchildren. (I’m glad I’m closer in age to my kids and grandkids) He retired in Kingston after serving as a chaplain to the Kingston Penitentiary. He then worked at Family Services and had a relationship with Queen’s University.
I wish I knew him as a younger man. I think he must have been a wonderfully gracious individual and from what I have picked up from family stories he had a good sense of humour.
