I was reminded today of how much I have to be thankful about.
I know, it’s not the best of time, it’s not the easiest of time. People are ill, lost their jobs, economics are shifting and uncertainty is certain.
And yet I have been reminded about the goodness of God. Blessed be the name of the Lord. It was Job who said, “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.”

The picture from above was taken about two years ago. I was going to a meeting to talk about strategy and ministry, to engage a good group of leaders for most of the day. As I was a guest I arrived later in the morning – just in time for coffee – but a couple of kilometers from the site I rounded the corner and saw this picture. I had to stop and take a picture.
This photograph reminds me of that day, the fresh crisp air of the autumn and the warmth of the sunshine I can still sense. So too, there are songs, words in Scripture and stories from people who are walking with God that remind me again of the goodness and blessing of God.
We have so much to be thankful for. Even today.
