Another wonderful carol from the pen of Major Ray Harris. Not sure when this one was written, but it goes to the tune of Finlandia.
He left his Father’s own embracing presence,
To come and share our full humanity;
He who was rich in heaven’s own communion,
In love assumed our human poverty.
He came, the Light that darkness could not master,
Illuminating truth so graciously,
Eternity brought low into a manger,
Confess we Christ, the Lord, on bended knee.
He came, Emmanuel, in human weakness,
Refusing right that were completely his,
Among his own he moved but was rejected,
Obedient unto death; a death for us.
Here’s the melody.
