Early Easter Sunday we arose, but not as Jesus did, from the grave, but to drive to Ottawa to be with Jason for a couple of days. It’s been a while, since January, that we had a chance to be with him. He recently was offered a full-time position within the federal government as a result of good work and his very successful completion of his Masters of Political Science.
As it turned out Monday turned out to be a very warm and sunny day in Ottawa and we did a great deal of walking around the Byward Market and along Sparks Street.
Along Sparks Street, we came to Jason’s building so we could see where he will be working. I took a picture of him, which I described as the obligatory photo, and to mark this rather significant moment in time!
If I can brag for a moment, I am very proud of how well Jason has done and over the past years, he has worked to keep his family going, pay the bills and all the while has had the academic success that has brought the attention of the university to his skills and maturity. So, well done Jason!
We also had a chance to connect with Marc and Adele at their place by the river….and the river was getting bigger by the day! It was a great meal and we all went home very full!
Finally, I might add, we had a chance to get away from very heavy schedules and do something that connected us to family and provided us with some personal space! That in itself is refreshing!
