Once again October 31 rolls around and the kids roll out onto the sidewalk. We had candy for 90 though as Wendy pointed out after the first bowl was gone that if I give 2 to each kid we have candy for 45. Sorry to the rest – you got one and no more.
The grandchildren were out – and they looked so cute! Carlyle was excited for face paint as part of the costume. Fitz just kept calling out “HI” as we chatted by video. Ted, Beth and Rachel went with the Star Wars theme! Imagine a 3-year-old Darth Vader! What fun that must have been!

The other evening while watching Murdoch, one of our favourite shows, a character came on that I had not seen yet. His name? Fred Waters! Yup….a character with my name. I wonder how do they choose names for characters on television programs?

One of my favourite authors is Larry Crabb. Have you read his books? He often has a way of putting something that just let’s me have a different view. Today’s quote reflects upon how we seek to find happiness for ourselves. We demonstrate by our actions that we often are guilty of feeling that we at best are the author, God the observer and at worst that we are god and there is no loving, caring God. Help us O Lord to trust you and to wait on your provision.
