Remember the movie Back to the Future? It starred a young Michael J. Fox and it and it’s subsequent follow up movies share the same premise – that knowing and interfering with our future will mess up that which should be. Of course it’s just “the movies” and for that matter science fiction. When it comes to the future we don’t really have much of a handle on what is going to happen…apart from knowing that things are expected and something of a schedule with consequences may or may not happen that’s about the best we can do.
On this Thanksgiving weekend I’m thinking about the past more than the future. I’m thinking about our wonderful children, our perfect granddaughters, our sisters and brothers, our parents, our heritage and the wonderful way that God has displayed his faithfulness.
Here’s the verse of the day from Biblegateway.com “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
The Lord knows our future and I’m grateful for His loving me, accepting me and for guiding me. And not just me but my family….and you!
