Canadian Keswick Conference Centre

Two of my best summers were spent at Canadian Keswick Conference Centre – a wonderful retreat/vacation spot on Lake Rosseau.  It was over 620 acres as I remember it.  I first posted about it here.  That’s turned out to be a very popular blog posting with people coming there almost weekly.  Seem Keswick lives on in the hearts and minds of many.

There is also a Facebook page for Keswick – and recently some great photos were posted there.  Here they are here:

Many choices in accommodation
Recognize Warren Wiersbe?
It was a great lake!
The long driveway – the boys would often be called to sweep it!
A large property
The gardens, steps – everything given great care
The boathouse is to the right
The Hotel looked out over the lake
We spent hours on here when the guests were eating
The Chapel – could seat 650

i have fond memories of attending the Keswick Conference. i was about 7 years old when i attended with my parents and siblings. it was so much fun!! Sad that it closed…

  2. By the time I was invited to spend a week at Keswick I had only been in Canada a short while. The Christian atmosphere of the conference Center as well as the beauty of nature helped me to decide to remain in this country!

I remember going to Keswick twice with my parents for the Annual
    General Meeting of the Gideons.
We took the Sagamo both times.
My dad was a good friend of Rev. Gordon Bish the then director of Keswick
but, have no idea where the Bish’s went after the conference grounds closed.

I can’t find the Facebook page. Stan. I two stayed there in the 70’s with my parents and two younger brothers in the trailer park. My late father was a Presbyterian minister. I loved going there.

I worked there as a waitress in the Early 50’s. It was hard work, little pay & no days off. Peggy Carsor was in charge of the girls. Lovely location . Made lifelong friends. Memories are made of this experience.

In the 1950s I had the privilege as an 8-year old of spending at least two summers at Keswick with my parents after driving from our home in Pasadena, California. It was a long journey but the Christian guest speakers and the wonderful music blessed me even as a kittle girl. (My Dad was born in London, Ontario; and even after moving to California, he loved taking us to his favorite Canadian pkaces–of which Keswick was one. One of my fondest memories was diving off the high platform into the cold waters of the lake! Oh, I miss those days!

I was here in the 60s and early 70s. The pictures of the little boy by the chapel and next to the lake are of me at about age 5. I was attempting to give a sermon by the lake and got caught.

It amazes me how many of my own photos from this time period at CKC Centre are echoed by yours. That’s why I’ve linked your page to my WordPress post.
