It was The Salvation Army’s 17th Annual Harvest Brunch today in Edmonton. We were privileged to have Alberta’s Lieutenant Governor with us, Col. (Ret’d) The Honourable Donald S. Ethell and his good wife, Her Honour, Mrs. Ethell. They are gracious people with humble hearts and a good knowledge of The Salvation Army. They had served in Germany and were familiar with The Salvation Army’s services in that country when Canada used those bases for their European work.
The Lieutenant Governor sat on my right as protocol calls for, and we had a good conversation. He is well read and has lived in Calgary for many years not far from where our home was for seven years.
