When we lived in Ottawa there were regular reminders that we while we were in the Nation’s Capital, we were also on the Ontario Quebec border. The signs were the immediate give away. Yes, nord, not north and est not east marked the roads. And of course signage on stores had to meet the Quebec legislation. But the maple trees were still tall and the oaks plentiful.
In our visit to Jason we ventured to the far eastern edge of Ontario, almost to Montreal. The drive was beautiful and the weather terrific.
We visited the Thrift Barn! Oh, my!! What a place.
If you ever wonder what a hotel does with all the old bed frames and headboards, wonder no longer! They had junkie stuff and things that had real value. They had things that I wondered, why on earth… and other things that I thought, now that’s cool. I even saw some windows that would look really good with Terry’s backyard art!

This rural setting was gorgeous with a B7B at the front of the property and horses out the back.

Autumn is a great time for these kinds of exploration and wanderings. And what a lovely day it was. See the telephone that is wood and hangs on a wall? I have used one of those. It hung on the wall at Morrison’s by Lake Cecebe. And it is the phone that I used to call my parents (collect) to hear that I had another sister – Catherine in July 1968.
And if you’re interested in the gramophone, the price is $9750.
