The weather is turning…apparently, it isn’t spring at the end of January in Edmonton. But after 3 weeks of remarkably warm weather, we’ve become a little spoiled, But we’re Albertans so we’re ready for the continuance of winter. And here it comes…

I have many memories from previous family days – like the year Phil fell and broke his wrist when we were on Mount Lady MacDonald – -yes named after John A MacDonald’s wife.
And here we are making memories…we took Carlyle, Fitz and Paige out for breakfast this morning. We went to Denny’s!! Yup. Denny’s.
Paige immediately asked if she could order spaghetti for breakfast. Sure – why not? So she had that. A waffle for Fitz and chocolate chip pancakes for Carlyle. Orange juice all around of course. It was fun. On the way back to the house I had The Vinyl Cafe for them. We were listening to the podcast Arthur the Dog. The kids were having such fun listening to it, that even though we got back to their house, we stayed in the van for 12 more minutes listening to Stuart McLean telling the hillarious story of Arthur the dog,,,we were all laughing as we sat there.
Then came a text message from Amanda who could see the van out the front buy no one was getting out. “Is everything okay?”
Last night we were with Philip and Amanda and the kids – also known as the Western Waters – for our usual Sunday night dinner. I took Nugget out the back to do his personal business and he found a little piece of ice that he hung on to and carried about the lawn.

And finally, I don’t think I could let the demonstration of the kind of values exhibited by the American Attorney General go by without noting how absolutely terrible it was. What does justice have to do with the status of the stock market.
