We, that being my parents and I, with 2 little sisters, moved to Scarborough, Ontario, in 1969. In those days, Warden and Lawrence were fairly far out on the outskirts of the city. Today you would never know that.

My first year of school was grade 8 at Buchanan Public School. The next year I headed off to Wexford Collegiate. The big debate in our house was whether I should I do the 4-year general program or the 5-year advanced program. To qualify for university, it was required to do the 5-year program. So that’s what I chose.

As well students had to choose – were you doing the business stream or the science stream? Science also included the arts, and in grade 10 the school had a huge expansion and became an arts school.

All these years later, the school is having an anniversary weekend and there is a Facebook group that is communicating and facilitating the organization of the event. I can, if I wish, even by a T-shirt. Which I considered, but between the cost of the shirt, taxes and shipping it came in at just over $50.

So I will just post it here and call it a day.
