Dad at 95

We were away when Dad’s birth date when zooming by. I was walking along the street in downtown Calgary, the city I was born in, thinking about Dad at 95. What would that have been like. A compassionate man who loved his family deeply I think would have been more compassionate, more loving.

That’s my thought.

And I think so because I think it’s true that we become more of what we were like when we were young as we age. So more compassionate, more loving, more genorous would likely describe him.

Maybe funnier too. He always had us laughing! He loved to laugh and he loved to laugh with others. So yes, funnier too!

I came across this photo that I have recently. It points to another side of Dad. He was well organized and wise. He served as the chair of the advisory council to the General for three years. Here he is with others who have now gone to Glory too.

So his wisdom at 95 would likely be deeper too.

Dad at 95. We miss him deeply. We wish he could be here to see what life is like for us and to share in the adventures with Mom.

I know this too. He would be really happy to see where Mom is living, how close she is to Cath and Terry, and to know how well they treat her. That would really make him smile!
