I have spent hundreds of hours on Air Canada. The industry is set up to favour the use of one airline – for then you become a frequent flyer and you accrue benefits. AC has made getting to some of those benefits harder, ie. you must flyer more often and further with them to get access for example to the lounge. West Jet is similar, not quite the same but you accrue WJ dollars with them and status in priority boarding.
In retirement, I was glad to leave that world behind. I had had enough of planes, airports, jostling passengers, luggage and lost time awaiting delayed or cancelled flights.
This past week in visiting Jason we decided to use Porter for a change. They are, to our delight, the only airline giving us a direct flight to Ottawa from Edmonton. Otherwise we had to fly to Calgary, Toronto or Montreal.

Porter uses a four-seat format with an aisle down the middle, so we had two seats that were very comfortable with adequate leg room. And in a word, the experience was delightful.
Would we use them again? Absolutley.

What a nice surprise to have enough leg room. I am assuming little leg room is a problem of europe. You in the USA have great leg room 🙂
