O God our help in ages past, our hope for years to come…

We come to you this day O Lord, aware of the need of our world and our place in it. We come to you for wisdom and insight so that we might live lives of integrity and compassion. Help US be good stewards of what we hold in our hands. Help us be good citizens of the land we live on. Help us be good neighbours in the communities in which we share.

We pause to thank you O Lord for our health, for those things which bring us joy and blessing. We thank you for the things that bring us struggle for we realize that these are the things that cause us to grow in character. We thank you for the food of the day and the sleep of the night.

Bless those who gather ’round us, be with them, be with us, and be with those whom we care for. Give mercy to the ill, peace to the dying, and solace to those who grieve.

We pray all this in the name of Jesus who “equips us with all we need for faith, love, and justice.
