And we’re home

Dorothy clicks the heels of her lovely and now famous red shoes while reciting, as directed, “there’s no place like home, there’s no place like home!”

With that of course she is spun up into the air and suddenly is back on her bed with Auntie Emme!

If only getting home was that easy!

Our day yesterday was not so easy and while Air Canada keeps sending me customer service feedback surveys, yesterday it seemed like they were doing everything in their power to get me into a grumpy mood. I won’t go into the details, trying to keep negative feedback off social media, but I am looking forward to the next survey! Come on Air Canada.

YYZ as the snow arrives

Wendy and I have been away from home a long time – three weeks and so we are SO happy to be home again. After all, there’s no place like home!

Tuesday was a great day at the office – a great deal of fun with the annual report, done in a different format this year, and followed by a taco luncheon for the staff. The food was great, the staff seemed really happy and there was a very positive mood in the air by the end of the day. Yes, I think we’ve got some good momentum going right now.

who’s the guy with the orange hat?

Now I understand that there were some folks that felt that perhaps our attire wasn’t appropriate. I suppose I understand to some degree. And surely we don’t want to be insensitive, but sometimes I wonder if there is any room for fun and well, silliness. Maybe it appears that we’re doing so at the expense of an ethnic group but that was certainly not intended – the hats being provided by the supplier of the food which was external to us.

Lunch was tacos! The servers were famous!

And now for something completely different…

This lovely piece of art hangs on the wall in Stan and Debi’s house. Debi did this as cross-stitch and the colours and scene are stunning. I will say, though I didn’t take other pictures, that there is lots of artwork, mostly paintings, that Debi has done. She is really talented! I mean REALLY talented.

One final comment, while in Florida we had a lovely meal with Leanne, Andrew, Silas and Hannah and Jacob – now always referred to as Jake!

And then one last picture as we were leaving Tampa, sadly… looking out the window of the plane!

Good-bye Tampa
