The change in our weather was sudden and dramatic. I cut the last of the Gerber daisies off the plant the night before it turned cold and started snowing. And then it snowed for four days.
Who would have expected such a dramatic turn? And yet it is November and it is Alberta.

While this brings about topics such as snow tires and shoveling, it is also the time when our grandkids grab their gear and head out the door delighted that the snow has finally come! Maybe our aversion to winter is all in the mind! Maybe attitude is what matters most.

The snowfall and the calendar reminded Wendy and I that Christmas is also not that far off and so we headed to everyone’s favourite mall – the West Edmonton Mall. Okay, maybe that’s an exaggeration that it is everyone’s favourite. But one end of the mall is rather quiet and there is a Starbucks overlooking the rink. It’s a great spot to sit and watch and enjoy a few minutes together.

As the house becomes more and more ready for us, for our retirement, for us to settle into for the next 20 or 30 years we finally got a piece we’ve been thinking about for the front door. And I think it looks great and adds a nice finish to the entrance. At some point in the future the floor will get changed out so that the cold ceramic floor is replaced by a warmer and darker tile.

Right now we’re just thrilled to be comfortable and warm in our home. Praise the Lord for His goodness and provision.
Oh, and I should say it finally stopped snowing! For now.
