We’ve traveled to many places with our trailers. We drove from Ottawa down the east coast to Florida and back. We drove from Calgary all around Alberta, into Idaho, Washington State, Northern California, Oregan, Montana, Vancouver Island and into Saskatchewan.
One year we spent the first part of our holidays on Vancouver Island with Les and Tiffany and then drove to Northern Ontario where we met Brian, Adele, Brad, and Meghan. This ended up being one of the very favourite places we ever camped. The campground is TomahawkRV and this place was really well run.
The big white pines, the soft carpet of needles, the proximity of a crystal clear lake and some fantastic weather made for a great place to camp. The beach was good and though the water was somewhat cool, the Lake of the Woods lake is a remarkably clean body of water.
Of course JR was along for the ride – our ever calm, curious, camping companion!
Every morning I would take my fishing rod and head down to the water early while it was still calm and quiet. I never caught anything but if there is a remedy for anxiousness it has to be sitting by a glass-still lake.
Of course having family around is always great and the story of the visit of the bear lives on in our story-telling each year!
It’s hard to believe that it has been 15 years since that summer and that so much has happened. Our lovely trailer is near the end of its life now, but I think we have no regrets – given those choices we would do the same over!
That sky on fire is something… unbelievable 🙂 stay safe and greetings from Portugal, PedroL
