We drove to Ottawa yesterday to pick up and bring back to Toronto, Jason and the grandkids. They were pretty excited to head to Grandma and Grandpa’s house and 15 minutes out of Ottawa came the question, “are we in Toronto yet?”
After a quick stop in Napanee, we were off again only stopping for supper in Oshawa as the sun had set by then. Then it was home!
The outside Christmas lights were on pulling into the driveway and the talk was all about Christmas and celebration and what “they might get”. Little eyes have been surveying the gifts under the tree and a great number of guesses have been floated for a reaction!
One of the things I love about having the kids around is bedtime routines and the chance to lay with them, read a story, cuddle up and assure them of our love and the importance of them in our lives.
Today will be a few errands to make sure we have the food we need and make sure we’re ready for tomorrow, which I think we are. It will also be a day of play and just “being together”! Is there anything better than just being together? I can’t think of anything I would want more for Christmas than being with family.
