Adele – 25

I have been listening to Adele sing and find her voice to be wonderful – though as someone recently remarked, she could sing through the telephone directory and win a Grammy. She has a way with words and melody. And she’s young. Which brings me to this article – one of the world’s most successful artist doing just what she wants to do – but is she enjoying it?

Christianity today has an interesting article on the new album by Adele called 25.

It talks to the words of her songs and the themes which her music consistently put forward. It’s a sad series of songs and they lift these words to add credence to the comments they make.

I had won Wimbledon twice before, once as the youngest player. I was rich. I had all the material possessions I needed… It’s the old song of movie stars and pop stars who commit suicide. They have everything, and yet they are so unhappy. I had no inner peace. I was a puppet on a string.”

I love her singing but can’t help think that she would be so much happier if she had a relationship with Jesus.
