Good-bye Shirley Temple

Black and white television was the norm in our home growing up.  I remember going into a small shop in Orillia with my Dad and he looked at a colour television.  I recall that the price was around $600 – now remember that this was around 1965 so image what the equivilant of that would be today?  Maybe $6000?

At any rate it was on that little 19 inch black and white television with the dial that “clicked” from channel to channel (could get 13…but we usually only got about 4 or 5) that I use to watch Shirley Temple and the great movies that featured here.

So this morning the news of her death at 85 was sad and yet a reminder of those good ol’ days when channels were few and the content of the broadcasts were good for all to watch.
