On my December 25th post I told something of our story of the most recent ice storm. Here’s a few photos of the neighbourhood that I took the day after the storm to record something of the damage. Because all of our power, telephone and cable supply are above ground and the trees are getting old the combination meant lost power for many.
While this significantly less destructive than the 1998 ice storm in Ottawa it still left it’s mark on the city.
The radio in the bottom picture we bought after that ice storm – it has a battery powered by a crank on the side. It proved to be very useful.
