The question put to Wendy and I today was “are you guys okay?”. I wondered silently as I smiled and said “yes we are”…was it something we said, was it what we didn’t say, was it that we have kids living a different ends of the country, was it that we work at THQ? It might be the latter I suppose.
So let me put your worry to rest. (You are worried aren’t you?)
There are many things we enjoy about being where we are at this point in our lives. And of course we are near other family members – many of whom we have been away from for a number of years. Would we like to be closer to our kids? Of course, and maybe one day we will be. But for now we are enjoying our place in life.
How about you?
Part of our ability to rest in our circumstance is due to our theology. That is quite different from a philosophy of life though theology certainly speaks to that. We believe that God has a plan for our life. And as we’ve trusted our present (as well as our future) into God’s hands we believe that He is directing our place in life.
Here’s a verse that we often revisit: “For I know the plans have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
