Eric Leidzen’s music

Last night we were at Oshawa Temple for Hetiage Brass’ Annual concert.  It was very enjoyable and frankly I enjoyed listening to some band items I haven’t heard for a very long time.  One of those was On the Road – which the last time I played would have been in 1980 or 81.  Also there was a Euphonium Solo which was written by Eric Leidzen – one of The Salvation Army’s most talented musical writers.  I remember my parents had an album of his music – which I loved.

One of the tracks on that album was “On the Way Home”.  It features songs such from The Salvation Army Song Book that speak to our home in Heaven – and issue an invitation to be there!

So I was delighted this morning to discover that you can listen to that album and that track on line.  You can listen to it at salvoaudio.com –here’s the link to the album.  At the beginning of the track you will hear Liedzen speaking about the writing of this piece.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have this music on clear digital quality!?
