We are settled into the new house…and slowly it is beginning to look like home. But I should fill in the gap since our last post.

Friday morning we awoke in Madison Wisconsin, and the plan was to be in Gary Indiana by lunch and have supper just before crossing the border. That would give us the chance of being into Toronto in late evening. However, we didn’t count on a heavy thunderstorm, considerable construction into, through and beyond Chicago, nor did we think that we would end up in such heavy traffic on the east side of Illinois. At any rate by Friday at midnight we were pulling into the outskirts of Toronto and soon after were collapsed in sleep in the new house.
Observations on 4 days of travel…
1. It’s wind and weather that slow you down, not terrain

2. Large US cities in the east love to charge tolls to drive their highways

| It was closed – why aren’t they in Canada? |
3. Those same cities don’t appear to spend the collected cash on highway upkeep
4. US cities have many great restaurants…they also seem to have an equal number of fireworks stores
5. I love Camping World and wish they would come to Canada
6. The price of fuel is still a bargain in the USA…compared to Canada at least 25% cheaper…compared to the rest of the world it’s cheap
7. I’m still amazed how many people own RV’s!
