Susan and Jason hosted us for a great meal last night. It’s great to be in the home of our kids and since neither Philip and Amanda or Susan and Jason live in Edmonton any more when we do get to visit, it makes it all the more special.
After finding our hotel – there’s a story there – we enjoyed the opportunity to put our feet under their table and share in conversation and laughter.
Jason has a new book he’s been assigned to read that interested me. The First 90 Days by Michael Watkins caught my attention. I’m currently working my way through Five Dysfunctions of a Team (Participant Workbook) with the intention of using it with our Divisional Executive Board. Jason’s book seems like it would be a good follow up book. I loved one of the sentences of Michael Watkins…”The President gets 100 days to prove his leadership – you have 90.”
Since transition is such a large part of our world, and certainly the Army world, I’ve been looking for a good book on leadership transition. I’ll report back after reading it on its value and highlights.
