I’ve heard warnings to pastors from many sources that they should not ever let AI write their sermons for them. But the temptation has to be enormous. Last year, when I was preparing to do a men’s weekend, I took my text and asked AI to give me an outline. It was pretty good!
And if it’s pretty good on the first try, what happens after a few attempts, narrowing the data or clarifying the objective? But I would never use it because the shortcut to it means I never sit and really marinate in the text and what The Holy Spirit has to say to me about it. Working through the text is important and the process more important.
So I was really interested when The Good Faith podcast posted on this very topic. The podcast has some great data points to it and highlights the need for face-to-face, real-life interaction in the telling of, and living out of, The Gospel. I won’t give the podcast away, but rather give you the encouragement to go listen.
