I know that days turn into weeks, and weeks into months, and months into years, but how could 47 years have gone by so quickly. We have lived in Mississauga, Toronto, Hamilton, Listowel, Ottawa, Calgary and Edmonton. We have raised two fine boys, travelled extensively through North America and a bit of the UK together. We have had sickness and surgeries, said good-bye to people we dearly loved. We have owned two dogs, a bird, many tropical fish and a couple of hamsters.
We have owned two trailers and loved camping, travelling throughout Canada and the USA. We finally bought our first house at age 64 and I’m still amazed at that.
We owned cars – Honda, Chev, Chrysler (regrettably), Toyota and Ford. Our first car together, brand new was a 1978 Honda Accord which cost us $7987.
We have had many good friends. Some we lost to illness, some to distance and some to stupidity.

Wendy and I have enjoyed many kinds of good food. We still enjoy eating out and we do so more often these days – after 40-some odd years of cooking, it seems reasonable to have a few meals cooked by someone else.
But what we have had that matters most is a deep love of one another, based on our firm faith, our commitment to our vows and a willingness to keep talking and caring with and for one another.
So 47 years later – we celebrate one another and our wonderful family. We’re not perfect but we are in love, deeply.
