Update from The Villa

It’s been a very cold and snowy in Edmonton. I think it’s been snowier this year than in the past, and certainly we’ve had more cold weather. Last year, however we didn’t have Nugget. So this year, handling the weather takes on a new consideration. But of course, that’s just one aspect.

Steve’s place remains unsold….I know of one person who looked at it but thought the price was too high for an unfinished basement. We wait for the new neighbours. It is interesting to see The Villa changing as new folks move in. We continue to enjoy living here..

We are now a week into the journey following Wendy’s fall, which resulted in a broken wrist. No she didn’t slip on the ice – it happened indoors at a friend’s house. I’ve reassured them we will settle for under $10K. But what it has brought to light for both of us is how many little things you need two hands for. Want to put toothpaste on a toothbrush? How about putting your watch on or clipping your fingernails? I haven’t mentioned trying to put on pants – or do up your coat. So we’re learning to be patient with each other in the tiny matters of life.

In more exciting news the clubhouse is going to get a new furnace! I knew you would be thrilled about that. The old one is an original and so is some 35 years old – that just goes to prove the saying they don’t make things like they used to.

And during this season of celebrations, I had another birthday! A lovely lady at our church, Louise, baked me a chocolate cake! How kind of her.

I hope you enjoyed whatever you celebrated over the past few weeks!
