Connecting

The world has really shrunk. There was a time when crossing a country meant slow, long days of travel by train or bus. Today, we get on planes, and within hours, we are several thousand kilometers away. Technology connects us via satellite, and news travels in microseconds.

Being in Ontario again has some great advantages. First and foremost, it lets me visit Mom – and we had a great visit, as well as connecting with Cath and Terry. How I wish we all lived closer together. And it isn’t that I haven’t tried. I have sent numerous real estate posting to Catherine. She has, so far, unwisely decided not to move to the land of promise known as Edmonton.

Tomorrow I head home and will be glad to do so, but how nice it was to have this short window of time.
