October always passes with a deep sense of gratitude and sadness. It marks the day that Dad was Promoted to Glory. That term of course, resonates with those of us raised in The Salvation Army. Dad was a proud Salvation Army officer, dedicated to his ministry and personal integrity.

I have had through the years so very many people tell me their experience with my Dad, how he helped, how he initiated, how he encouraged, how he intervened on their behalf. Integrity and compassion certainly were hallmarks of his life.
And humour – so many good laughs – a man who knew how to and when to use humour.
We miss Dad, wish we had had more time, but that’s our perspective. We will one day see him again and know him better than ever.

Yes he is sure missed and he was such a joy to live with, always patient always kind and always gave us a sense of knowing just the right thing to say when we had concerns and yes some day we will be together again
