Cars from the 1960s

I can think of lots of cool cars from the 1960s. I would begin with the Chevrolet Impala convertible! My Aunt Eileen had a red one with a white interior, and 2 years later a white one with red interior. I did not know then how cool that was! A big V8 with a few bells and whistles like power windows!

There are a few other cars of note, but what about these three?!! First, the Beverley Hillbillies had an old 1921 Buick, which they drove for the 9 years that the show ran. It now sits in a small museum just south of Branson, Missouri.

The next car of the 1960s came in another SitCom – The Munsters. I always like this show more than The Addams Family. This car gave you the appearance of power!

The Munsters were a loving if not weird family. Remember “Thing”? And remember, Grandpa? The vampire? It was a fun show, and the house had some interesting features. Oh, and the daughter who was considered ugly! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Lastly, the 1960s gave us the Batmobile! I was 7 years old when the TV series Batman arrived on television. But Batman had an earlier version from the 1940s. But first the car!

The Batmobile had lots of cool features; it could drop tire-piercing tacks! Of course it was fast and had a phone in it! A red phone!

If you watch the video below from the 1943, you’ll see what Batman travelled in then!

So there we are – cars I remember from the 1960s! What do you remember from those years?
