We recently got a notice to remind us that our mortgage will be up for renewal the end of March 2026. Seems like a ways off yet, but it will be here quickly. We have a rate of 2.29% so I’ve been cheering the interest rate cuts! What rate will we be able to renew at?

It is of course autumn and the leaves are changing and we’re wearing more sweaters these days. How quickly things change. The garden is empty and I’ll soon cover it in leaves to give the ladybugs and other good bugs somewhere to spend the winter.
Nugget continues to grow and change. He is excellent at letting us know when he needs to go out and continues to bring us much joy. We had a lovely gathering of The Villa residents (owners and guests) recently. Chicken dinner with salads and great desserts. We also had a birthday cake for Ted who celebrated his 95th birthday. He continues to live independently and is still driving. He’s a very happy man and I think that’s part of the secret of his good health.

As part of our Thanksgiving weekend, we had a lovely dinner with Philip, Amanda, Carlyle, Fitz and Paige. Wendy even made a lovely lemon meringue pie! That was a big hit. Nugget had a good weekend too as he loves when we go to the home of the Western Waters and he can play with them.

Nugget has a Halloween costume but I suspect he may not walk out the front door is I put it on him. He seemed humiliated when we tried it on!

We bought a new appliance which gave Paige a chance to make a little “house” for her to play in. She decorated it up and had a hook to hang her things and a door and some windows. I think she really loved it.
We were sad to see the ambulance in our neighbourhood this week. We hope our neighbour is okay and will be home soon and feeling better.

Finally some family news – we’re following their Facebook to see the great vacation that Terry and Cath are on – what a way to celebrate 30 years of marriage.
