Quilt hunter

Over the past twenty years Wendy and I have viisted many quilt shops. Pennsylvania, New York, Ontario, Georgia, Florida, Arizona, California, BC, Alberta….well you get the idea. Lots of places. But close to home, we’re trying to find a few more. Some of the Alberta shops disappeared during the pandemic.

Last week we visited two shops that we’ve not been to before. One was in Red Deer but the other was out in the country side. It was near Sylvian Beach. It’s called Nuts for Bolts.

While Wendy shopped and it turned out to be quite a large shop, Nugget and I went for a walk. Near the entrance of the property was an old Ford pickup truck. What year I could not tell you but I am fairly certain it is from the 1920’s.

A closer look revealed that is being used and had a good hitch on the back for towing. The Alberta countryside holds many interesting features. And this property was certainly one.

Can you see the large wooden figure in front of the house? Big foot lives!

I didn’t take any pictures inside the shop, unfortunately, it was too hot to leave Nugget in the van, and they had a “no animals” sign by the front door. However Wendy was impressed enough to say she wants to return.
