Sisters

on

My delightful sister, Catherine, sometimes known as #3, went the extra mile to get our Mom into the car and off to visit her two sisters. With Freda and Florence gone, it was extra great (I think) for Cath to get Mom to see Joyce and Eileen.

What’s also interesting is that Joyce is the youngest of the five sisters, and Eileen is the eldest. My memory is strong when it comes to my aunts. I remember the Christmas dinners, the summers at the cottage and of course the funerals and weddings which brought us together.

I lived with Joyce and Ray when I was 17/18 years old for a year. I always loved being with them and they were very kind and generous to me. It was a fun year for me in many ways and having access to a variety of new cars was, well COOL! One night I went to band practice in a Trans Am, Firebird Orange, 444 under the hood and 4 speed hurst shifter. Oh my. In reflection – I didn’t really appreciate my position. But I was 17!

And I know you’re looking for an update on Nugget. He had a bit of tummy trouble this week – he eats anything and his nose is 3 inches from the ground. But he’s better now.

Shih Tzu is a great breed. They are friendly, love anyone, easy to deal with and transport and Nugget is proving to learn quickly. He just doesn’t like US hanging on to the leash. If he can hang on to and walk with us, he’s very happy.
