I have promised my friends that I won’t bombard them with pictures of Nugget now that’s he is with us and we are enjoying him. He is a quiet but determined pup. He loves to walk off leash behind me when we go out, but we are trying to get him used to having a leash on – so far he’s not impressed. He does love running along beside me and of course his curiosity means he wants to pick up everything that lands under his nose.

We made our first visit to the vet—good news—it is cheaper than the dentist—bad news—my Blue Cross doesn’t cover him—and he was deemed healthy. However, he has a little hernia from the umbilical cord, which will be repaired when they neuter him.
He sleeps in his pen, in the kitchen, through the night and is always ready to go out when I get him around 6 each morning. The other good news I’m getting many more steps in.
The grandkids love him, even Fitz has now gotten to the place of petting him. Being around the kids usually results in Nugget having a nap when we leave. He’s still a puppy.
Lastly, I keep calling him JR. How strange….but it is clear that our minds hold some things tightly.

And while Nugget loves us – we love him and he is filling our lives with much joy!
