The Jelly Roll Shop

on

We have not done as much exploring since moving to Edmonton as we had first thought. First of all the distances out here are greater than some of our adventures in Ontario. And two, I went back to work so you don’t have weekdays as free as we initially thought.

However this week we did decide to go out for breakfast early Saturday morning (with all the other seniors) and then hit the road to a small shop that Wendy had discovered at one of the quilt shows. It was about an hour from our house. The Jelly Roll Shop is a small shop in a rural setting – not open many hours but when we arrived it was certainly busy.

What was lovely was that it is set in a bit of a farm – though I only saw the goats and dogs. The dogs were so funny – and were very excited to see me approach. But what caught our attention was the drive in – first off a dirt road then down the driveway!

It was a lovely warm day and without a coat or jacket I think this was the first of a few rural adventures we may have.
